Dual IL-4/IL-13 Inhibition Refining Goals in Pediatric Atopic Dermatitis

Abstract
Atopic dermatitis is a systemic Type 2 inflammatory disease driven by IL 4 and IL 13, causing barrier dysfunction and immune dysregulation. Emerging pediatric data suggest early dual IL 4/IL 13 inhibition may restore barrier integrity, reduce sensitization, reduce Staphylococcus Aureus colonization and potentially modify disease trajectory that includes preventing comorbidities like atopic march and growth impairment.

Dr Martin Man Ho Chung is a specialist and trainer in Dermatology and Venereology and a member of the Specialty Board. He has also completed specialty training in Rheumatology. He currently serves as an Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong. He is also the Honorary Secretary of the Hong Kong College of Dermatologists, and a regional coordinator for the Global Psoriasis Atlas.
