Abstract
Dyslipidemia is the most important modifiable factor that accumulates with time. The LDL blood level is lower and the earlier the better . Lowering your LDL early in life prevents the buildup of fatty plaques (atherosclerosis), resulting in up to a three-fold greater reduction in heart disease risk compared to starting treatments later in life. The reduction in MACE seen in Vesalius CV trial with achieved LDL-C of 45mg/dL in Evolocumab arm , support intensive LDL-C lowering to this level even in patients without prior major CV event. Evolocumab is the only PCSK9 inhibitor to date with proven CV outcome in a wide range of patients, including primary and secondary prevention, as well as the use in the setting of ACS.

Dr Mohamed AbdelZaher AbdAllah Ibrahim is a senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist with more than 20 years of clinical, academic, and interventional experience in the field of cardiovascular medicine. He currently serves as Consultant Interventional Cardiology at King Fahd Military Medical Complex in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and is a Lecturer of Cardiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Egypt, a position he has held since 2008.
Dr AbdelZaher obtained his MB BCh, Master’s degree, and MD in Cardiology from Ain Shams University with excellent academic standing. He is internationally certified, having passed the American National Board of Echocardiography (ASCeXAM) and the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) certification.
