Career Talk for Incoming Interns
Career Talk for fresh Medical Graduates of CUHK and HKU as well as fresh MCHK Licentiate Graduates
Fresh medical graduates just about to embark on their internship year will soon be confronted with questions about the various possible pathways of doctoring. Those who have just passed the MCHK Licentiate Examination may or may not be in the same situation about their need to chart their career path during the internship year.
Every year during the short month counting down to internship, the Hong Kong Chinese Medical Association (HKCMA) gathers a panel of distinguished speakers who will share their insights on their respective specialties, providing advice on how the specialty may be fitting to the incoming interns’ own expectations about their advanced training and medical career.

“The image of an internist/physician has been glorified and exaggerated by the TV series House, which, however, does depict diagnosticians arriving at a diagnosis through a differential diagnosis and a process of elimination based on history, physical, and investigations. If you enjoy watching House, you may enjoy being an internist/physician. Unfortunately, given how crowded and noise-polluted the public general medical ward is, and given that patients are transferred to convalescent hospitals within 3 days, intellectual discussions can be sparse, the feedback loop on patient management hardly exists, and the joy of internal medicine can be lost in the process. 各位會員您好，香港中華醫學會聯同香港政府華員會及香港護士總工會，誠邀年滿40至80歲會員及其直系親屬參加 2026年6月13日（星期六）舉行之免費慢性腎臟病篩查日及健康講座。
時間：下午1時至6時
地點：九龍何文田忠孝街89號1樓 路德會包美達社區中心禮堂
檢測對象：本會年滿40至80歲會員 並且：
- 已知患有高血壓、糖尿病、高血脂、肥胖或心血管疾病，正在服用有關藥物 或
- 二期或以上嚴重肥胖，身體質量指數(BMI)>=30 或
- 具有慢性腎病家族史
每位合資格的會員，均可攜同最多兩位同樣符合以上條件的直系親屬一同參與檢測
完成檢測者可獲禮物一份，歡迎踴躍參加。
