Career Talk for 2026 Medical Graduates

Fresh medical graduates just about to embark on their internship year will soon be confronted with questions about the various possible pathways of doctoring. Those who have just passed the MCHK Licentiate Examination may or may not be in the same situation about their need to chart their career path during the internship year.
Every year during the short month counting down to internship, the Hong Kong Chinese Medical Association (HKCMA) gathers a panel of distinguished speakers who will share their insights on their respective specialties, providing advice on how the specialty may be fitting to the incoming interns’ own expectations about their advanced training and medical career.

“The image of an internist/physician has been glorified and exaggerated by the TV series House, which, however, does depict diagnosticians arriving at a diagnosis through a differential diagnosis and a process of elimination based on history, physical, and investigations. If you enjoy watching House, you may enjoy being an internist/physician.
