Honorary Life Membership (終身榮譽會員)
Any medical practitioner or otherwise who has rendered outstanding service to the Association OR for the furtherance of the medical sciences AND/OR superb leadership in healthcare transformation, who upon nomination by the Honorary Life Membership Nomination Committee (which is composed of the President, Vice-Presidents, Hon. Secretary and Treasurer) and endorsement by the Council, will be invited to become an Honorary Life Member of the Association.
Ordinary Life Membership (終身會員)
A medical practitioner who
- Is on the registry of the Hong Kong Medical Council, OR
- Has fulfilled Section 14A or Section 14C of the Medical Registration Ordinance (Cap. 161) in Hong Kong governing limited or special registration, AND
- Has decided to show staunch support for the HKCMA and has opted to make a substantive donation to the HKCMA for life membership once and for all.
Ordinary Membership (會員)
A medical practitioner who
- Is on the registry of the Medical Council of Hong Kong, OR
- Has fulfilled Section 14A or Section 14C of the Medical Registration Ordinance (Cap. 161) in Hong Kong governing limited or special registration.
Provisional Membership (臨時會員)
Any medical practitioner who has fulfilled Section 12 of the Medical Registration Ordinance (cap. 161) in Hong Kong governing provisional registration, which allows those who have passed the Licensing Examination or Qualifying Examination to register as provisional for internship assessment. A Provisional Member will automatically be promoted to Ordinary Member at the completion of the internship and upon granting of a full medical license by the Medical Council of Hong Kong.
Associate Membership (準會員)
A medical practitioner who is not registered with the Medical Council of Hong Kong but who holds a Mainland, Macao or overseas medical license, OR
- A dental doctor who is on the registry of the Dental Council of Hong Kong, OR
- A practitioner of Chinese Medicine registered with the Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board
Affiliate Membership (附屬會員)
- A Regular Nurse or Enrolled Nurse registered with the Nursing Council of Hong
Kong,
OR - A registered allied health professional in Hong Kong, namely those in the
following professions:
Audiologist, clinical psychologist, chiropractor, dental hygienist, dietitian, dispenser, medical laboratory technologist, medical social worker, midwife, occupational therapist, optometrist, pharmacist, physiotherapist, podiatrist, radiographer or speech therapist.
Student Membership (學生會員)
A currently enrolled medical student of any of the medical schools in Hong Kong, who will be automatically promoted to Provisional Member upon graduation from medical school, and who will be automatically promoted to Ordinary Member upon completion of the internship assessment and upon granting of a full medical license by the Medical Council of Hong Kong.
